WeeKEND RETREAT
September 2020. Just like everything else in 2020, our retreat looked a little different this year. But we still had great teaching and much needed break and lots of laughter. Thank you Tabitha Deller for the wonderful message! We also had a surprise visitor and made a new four-legged friend.
CAMPFIRE
August 2020. We really look forward to this annual event! This year included a talent show and Lindsey shared her moving testimony.
SCAVENGER HUNT
August 2020. So much fun! We took over Main Street for a fun game that was safe and family-friendly. Teams were given a photo sheet with clues and took off to find as many as possible before the air horn signaled “Times up!” We’re already planning next year’s hunt. Be sure to plan to come!
Garden Party
July 2020. It was so good to see each other in person after the shutdown. We wore hoop skirts to encourage social distancing and enjoyed delicious desserts and snacks that were individual and safe. Our friend, Angela Sutsakhan visited and shared an encouraging message.
MASK GIVEAWAY
April 2020. What a strange time! We were in “lockdown” and needed masks to go out to pick up essentials. At that time, no one knew where to get masks. Some of our ladies began producing masks to donate to hospital workers, as well as, our ladies. One day we had a drive-up/pick-up at our Home for free masks.
Writers’ Workshop 2.0

Open House
January 2020. Our dream came true! Back in 2016 when The Connection began, God gave us the vision of having our own space to gather, grow and love on each other, as well as, our community. God provided! We are extremely thankful to God and the MANY people that worked to remodel and gave time and money to make this reality.

Christmas with The Connection
We had a blast! Amazing food! Christmas Jeopardy! And a great devo on keeping your JOY through the holidays! We took a love offering to send to World Vision for our Kenyan friends & raised nearly $400! What a blessing!

Oh my! Our ladies love to serve others! In the fall, we…
- Made candy to benefit Brooke’s House, a home for women recovering from substance abuse.
- Made prayer squares & prayer shawls to comfort others.
- Collected 30+ Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.
- Took a love offering to send to World Vision to help a community in Kenya.
- Gathered items to bless the residents at The Leland personal care home.

What a great evening! Nine new ladies joined us for the first time. We played a fun game, enjoyed birthday cake in honor of it being one year since the idea for The Connection was begun. We talked about how T.C. and the formation process has influenced us. Our friend Susan shared her story of how she went from being in a horrific car accident (hip replacement and re-built leg and ankle) to running a half marathon. To God be the glory!

WEEKEND GETAWAY RETREAT
We spent the weekend at a gorgeous farm in Sabillasville, MD – complete with chickens, goats, sheep and a donkey! Guest speaker, Laura Acuña, shared the message “Clean Slate – Your past does not define your future”. What a wonderful weekend – learning, letting go, spending time with old friends and making new ones. The ladies are ready to register for next year’s retreat already! DARE TO DREAM WORKSHOP
Guest speaker, Lori Wriston, taught us the importance of setting goals in achieving our God-given dreams. Then each of us made a vision board to help us remember our goals. What a fun morning!

We had a great time making tissue paper flowers and Valentines to give to the residents at Hearthstone Retirement Home and guests at New Hope Shelter. They turned out sooo cute! Then, our devo girl, Steph, shared a wonderful message with us. Nice job Steph!

ROADTRIP TO GIRLS’ DAY OUT
We had a great time together at this one day women’s conference to benefit Pregnancy Ministries. Our own Diane Haupt sang and Mandy Hood hosted. TT Williford manned our very first display table. She met lots of new ladies that were interested in learning more about The Connection.

On November 11 & 12, a group from the The Connection went to the Women of Purpose conference held in Hershey, PA. Attended by 3,600 Jesus girls. What an awesome time! Liz Curtis Higgs, Tammy Trent, Lauren Daigle and… Chewbacca Mom, Candace Payne.

October 2016
We held our first regular meeting in October. We are grateful to our host, ReMax Realty, for allowing us to meet in their awesome space. There is room for LOTS of ladies!
We had a great evening – snacks, fun icebreaker and a great devotion on remembering to make time for relationships. Our October Challenge – make time to connect with a friend – write her a note or give her a call or go for a cup of coffee.
Karen Atherton shared about The Way Station and the important work they do there to be the hands and feet of Jesus. The ladies brought items to donate to The Way Station and New Hope Shelter.
September 2016 – Campfire Kickoff
What a beautiful evening God gifted us for our opening night! Approximately 40 ladies attended our Kickoff event. We talked about our vision for The Connection. Diane Haupt shared a devotion from “Lies Women Believe” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. We talked, laughed and enjoyed the campfire and snacks.
