We live in a truly blessed time. There is no limit to the number of resources available for us to learn more about God, each other and get encouragement. Sometimes I find myself drowning in blogs, podcasts and books. But really, that is more of a blessing than a curse.
Here are some of my favorite podcasts, apps and blogs. I hope you find something you like in this list.
Jumpstart your day in 5 minutes with Lisa Whittle 5 days a week for daily encouragement, inspiration, and all things Jesus. Candid discussions about real life and what God says about it.
Pray through the Bible verse by verse with Mary DeMuth. When life overwhelms you, unburden yourself through prayer and experience God’s nearness. God is listening.
The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey is a podcast that women love. It’s hosted by Jamie Ivey and each week she invites a girlfriend to join her and they chat about the big things in life, the little things in life, and everything in between. Topics include marriage, faith, children, parenting, sorrow, grief, joy, justice, books, what they are loving, plus so much more.
The Dream of You Podcast with Jo Saxton is based on her book by the same title. In this show, Jo dives deeper into her story and invites some of her friends along to share their experience. Join us, and may you discover The Dream of You.
The app will transform your time with God. We say we put God first … So wouldn’t it make sense that we give Him the first 5 minutes of each day? “We must exchange whispers with God before shouts with the world.” Lysa TerKeurst
She Reads Truth is an online community of women in the Word of God every day. Designed with this community in mind, the She Reads Truth Bible + Devotional app is a beautiful, functional, and accessible Bible-reading tool created to help women from around the world to connect with God’s Word and each other, anytime and anywhere. Whether your Truth time comes in the early morning before the world wakes, during a lunch break at your desk, or in the middle of the night with a baby in your arms—the She Reads Truth app brings your quiet (or not so quiet) time to you, right where you are.
IF:Gathering exists to equip women with gospel-centered resources, events, and community so they may learn more about who God is and disciple other women right where they are.
The (in)courage online community reaches thousands of women every day, welcoming them just the way they are, offering a space to breathe, loving support, and resources for meaningful connections.
You live in a generation of dry bones but God is blowing a fresh wind on you. He has a mission for you, He wants you to know Him, believe Him and see Him do the impossible in your life. You are here because you know there is more, you are hungry for more, and you’re ready to get your fight back. No one has your story but you, the world needs you to let Jesus speak freedom to you, bring you healing and set you free to run back and get others. Are you ready?
Kim Hyland is a writer, a speaker, and the founder and host of Winsome, an annual retreat for women that celebrates authenticity, diversity, and truth. She also speaks at national retreats and conferences, where she encourages women by sharing her imperfect path and God’s perfect plans.
Hello! I’m Teri Lynne, Scott’s wife and Casiday’s mom. A few years ago a friend described me as an idea slinger — I love that! And it’s an apt description for this “love to start, get bored in the middle, sometimes I never finish” girl. I’m a wife, a momma, a Bible teacher, a speaker, a writer, a laundry-doer, a dishwasher, and, well, you get the idea.
Researcher. Storyteller. Texan.
The official line: I’m a research professor at the University of Houston where I hold the Huffington Endowed Chair. I’ve spent the past sixteen years studying courage, vulnerability, empathy, and shame. I’m the author of four books: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, and Braving the Wilderness.
The bottom line: I believe that vulnerability – the willingness to be “all in” even when you know it can mean failing and hurting – is brave. I do NOT believe that cussing and praying are mutually exclusive. And, I absolutely believe that the passing lane is for passing only.
