How amazing is it when we look at nature and see all of the beautiful things that just seem to “take care of themselves”?

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Matthew 6:26

Amazing how tiny a seed is covered in the deep, dark, damp underground; yet if it is left still ‒ just being ‒ it pushes through the ground at the right time! It was given a “gift.” It was given intention (its talent, if you will) from God whether it be a flower to be placed upon a grave or a plant to brighten up your landscape or a vegetable to be consumed for nutrition… It was given a purpose.

YOU have also been given attention by God.

He intentionally made you.

YOU are not forgotten.

YOU are SOOOOO important to God’s kingdom.

He made you in His image and numbered the hairs on your head. He has given you a gift. It may not seem glorious or important to everyone but THAT IS OK! He didn’t make us all the same. He made us so that we can use our talents differently to help one another.

Imagine if the seed that God had planted by a florist, wasn’t ever planted? There would not have been a beautiful flower to lie upon the grave.

Imagine that seed being planted by a farmer… Just imagine that dust-covered farmer didn’t feel that his purpose was not a glorious enough life? We wouldn’t have those nutritious vegetables to eat.

But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. Exodus 9:16

Each of us is given a purpose and talent. We may have to wait upon the Lord. We may have to be patient many seasons for our gift to be recognized or ready to use but that doesn’t make our gifts and talents any less important.

Today, use your gift.

Today, look in the mirror and say to yourself, “I am a child of God. I am important. I will use my gifts to honor God!” Go be WONDERFUL! God made you that way!
