Life is filled with ups and downs.

Even as a kid, I learned quickly that there are times of want and times of plenty, times when I had the world by the tail and times where my world was in a tailspin.

I found myself in one of those situations a few years back. In my grief, I quickly realized that prayer was really hard! Sometimes to put words together seemed nearly impossible. I knew it was crucial that I begin to take my thoughts captive.

It was then that I created a Pinterest board titled, “Inspiration”. I collected graphics of verses that became my lifeline. In the wee hours of the night, I would find myself reading through those verses. I could quickly tell that speaking these words and reading these words was actually opening my heart to begin to feel the truth in these words.

My Pinterest board was making such a big difference in my life but I wanted to take it one step further. Instead of the hodgepodge combination of quotes and verses that I’d collected, I desired to put them together.

I pieced them together based on their topic. I formed my own long prayer, taken straight out of God‘s Word, filled 100% with the truths that God inspired so many years ago and still 100% relevant to me today.

When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

Let all that I am quietly wait upon you, for my hope is in you. Psalm 62:5

You created me and you carry me, you sustain me and you will rescue me. Isaiah 46:4

I know that you are on my side. I will not fear. Psalm 118:6

I will not fear because you have redeemed me. You have called me by name. I belong to you. I am precious and honored in your sight and you love me. Isaiah 43:1b, 4

I cast all my anxiety on you because I know that you care for me. 1 Peter 5:7

I know that after my season of suffering, through all your Grace you will restore, confirm, strengthen and establish me! 1 Peter 5:10

You did not give me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Some people trust in chariots or in horses but I will trust in the name of the Lord! Psalm 20:7

Because you are my God I will trust in you. Psalm 91:2

I give thanks to you Lord, for you are good and your mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

Help me to stay on your path so my feet will not stumble. Psalm 17:5

Amen
