Meet the scholarship winners of 2026!

Lainey Peyton
Waynesboro Area Winner

Lainey Peyton is a 2026 graduate from Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and received Honors with Distinction for every marking period. Lainey was a 3-sport athlete and was the captain of Waynesboro’s soccer team and track & field team. She was named 1st team Mid-Penn Allstar as a junior and was selected as PennLive’s Mid-Penn player of the week during her sophomore season. Lainey is an avid writer and is currently working towards finishing her second children’s book.

This coming fall Lainey will begin her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Lainey also plans to minor in creative writing. She has been accepted into the university’s Honors College and will also play for Pittsburgh’s women’s soccer team.

Gwen Furnish
Greencastle Area Winner
Gwen Furnish is a recent graduate from Greencastle Antrim High School who plans to attend Liberty University this fall. During her time in high school, Gwen participated in Peer Leaders, National Honors Society, Unified Bocce, and G-Lympics. Outside of school, she pursued several volunteer opportunities such as the 4.12 Leadership Program, Joni and Friends, and Night to Shine. At college, she plans to continue to serve through a degree in Special Education and strengthen her relationship with the Lord.
Anabella Perez-Colon
Smithsburg Area Winner

Anabella is a graduate from Smithsburg High School and will be attending Ave Maria University in the fall. She plans to major in biochemistry and eventually become a dentist or oral surgeon. Her faith is an integral part of her life, and she is passionate about pursuing works of charity throughout her career. Apart from academics, she likes to dance, play tennis, and go skating with her friends. She is honored to accept this award and appreciates the support she has received.
